General Refund Policy

At Cottonseed Construction, we are committed to providing quality flooring installation and refinishing services. We understand that circumstances may arise that require adjustments to your project or our agreement.

Service Deposits

Deposits may be required to secure your project slot and cover initial material costs:

  • Deposits are typically 25-50% of the total project cost
  • Deposits are applied toward your final project balance
  • Deposits are non-refundable once materials are ordered
  • Materials ordered specifically for your project cannot be returned

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel your flooring project:

Before Work Begins

  • 48+ hours notice: Full refund of deposit minus any material order fees
  • 24-48 hours notice: 75% refund of deposit
  • Less than 24 hours notice: 50% refund of deposit
  • Same day cancellation: 25% refund of deposit

After Work Begins

Once work has commenced on your property, refunds are available only in specific circumstances:

  • Work not started: Partial refund based on percentage of work completed
  • Work in progress: Refund of remaining balance minus costs incurred
  • Work completed: No refund available except for coverage claims

Quality Guarantee

We stand behind our workmanship and offer:

  • Free repair or replacement of defective work
  • Reimbursement for consequential damages caused by our work
  • Satisfaction commitment on all completed projects

Service Coverage

Our service coverage includes defects in workmanship and materials:

  • Installation defects: Covered for 2 years from completion
  • Material defects: Covered under manufacturer warranty
  • Normal wear: Not covered by our warranty
  • Damage after completion: Not covered by our warranty

Refund Process

To request a refund or discuss project adjustments:

  1. Contact our office at (251) 438-1638
  2. Provide your project details and reason for refund request
  3. Allow 5-10 business days for review and processing
  4. Refunds will be processed to original payment method

Dispute Resolution

If you are not satisfied with our resolution:

  • Request a supervisor review within 30 days
  • Provide written documentation of concerns
  • Allow 14 days for formal review process
  • Final decision will be provided in writing

Change Orders

If you request changes during your project:

  • Additional costs will be clearly itemized
  • Timeline impacts will be communicated
  • Written approval required before proceeding
  • Changes may affect service coverage

Force Majeure

In circumstances beyond our control, we may need to:

  • Reschedule work due to severe weather
  • Adjust project scope due to unforeseen site conditions
  • Modify timelines due to material supply issues
  • These situations will be communicated promptly

Customer Responsibilities

To avoid project disruptions and ensure quality results:

  • Provide clear access to work areas
  • Remove furniture and personal items
  • Maintain proper temperature and humidity levels
  • Communicate any concerns promptly
  • Allow reasonable time for work completion

Legal Compliance

This refund policy complies with Alabama state laws regarding service contracts and consumer protections. Any disputes will be resolved according to Alabama law.
